Fantasy Flight Games’ highly anticipated Blood Bowl Team Manager is arriving at retailers. The game was inspired by Games Workshop’s fantasy football property—not the kind of fantasy football where the success of a player’s imaginary team is determined by the weekly performance of real players, rather the kind of fantasy football that involves orcs, dwarves, and elves.

Also, instead of a tactical sports simulation game like its inspiration, Blood Bowl Team Manager is a strategic card game in which players attempt to see their teams through a five-game season and the Blood Bowl Tournament. Managing a team involves committing players, hiring staff, and making fans happy. One of the aspects of the game that I find most intriguing is its codification of cheating as part of the game within the game.
