Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
In Eruption from Stratus Games, the players try to keep volcanic lava flows from burning down their villages. Tiles can be placed to reroute the flows, cards played to call on rain. Protective walls can be built with straw, wood, or stone. And new eruptions of lava can start throughout the game.

Played this recently for the first time. It’s a clever game with enough depth to give it good replay value. A fair amount of take-that mechanics, but otherwise it’s a nice family-friendly affair. Cool theme, too.
