Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
Many people know Wil from his days as Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Others know him from his writing career, or from newer appearances on television shows like The Big Bang Theory, Eureka, Leverage, and Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
Now Wil’s got his own show airing on Felicia Day’s Geek & Sundry via YouTube. The show is called TableTop, and twice a month Wil will be playing board games with celebrities from the geek community. The first episode features Sean Plott, Grant Imahara, and Jenna Busch playing Small World with Wil.
I’m really excited about this series, as it looks to combine a lot of geekery with the games I love. You can subscribe to Geek & Sundry’s YouTube channel here.

Thanks for letting us know about it — I very much enjoyed watching the show.
Did anyone else notice two missed rules?
1. In the first turn of the hill giants, that player takes a region for 1 when it is not adjacent to a mountain he controlled.
2. The ghouls attacked on the turn they went into decline.
Both of these missteps benefited the same player, who won by only a couple points.
This didn’t detract from the fun of watching the show, but it certainly pointed out a difference in play style between the made-for-YouTube play group and my own. Good thing is, we all seem to be having fun.
