Dust Studios has announced a transition for its alternate-history-WWII miniatures combat game. As of June 1st, Battlefront Miniatures will take over distribution of the entire Dust Tactics/Dust Warfare line from Fantasy Flight Games.
Tournaments previously scheduled for May and June will proceed as planned, managed by FFG. Battlefront Miniatures will run events after that.
This follows on the heels of FFG recently licensing-out Tide of Iron to 1A Games. The two moves together suggest that FFG is working to better focus its support for series games on its big licenses, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and Warhammer. A press release from the three companies quoted Christian T. Petersen, CEO of Fantasy Flight Games, as saying, “The last year, however, as FFG experienced phenomenal growth across many of our publishing categories, it became clear that Paolo and the Dust games would be better served by a partner who specializes in the unique business of miniature games.”
Battlefront Miniatures is the company behind the highly successful Flames of War WWII miniatures game.
