These dice are kind of self-explanatory. Since cubes don’t roll so well, these dice are 12 sided containing the numbers 1 -6 twice. The claim is that they’re rounder, therefor more balanced. Designed by Matt Fleming, the Kickstarter project has already reached it’s goal of $3,246 with 46 days left to go. Matt provides a very exact cost breakdown of the entire project, which is pretty damn cool.
Right now you can get a set of 12 Doublesix dice for a $10 pledge. That’s not a bad deal at all.

Interesting concept. They should do the same thing for a “triple d4” as well. I never had much of a problem rolling d6, but the d4 always just kind of awkwardly flops onto the table without much spinning/rolling around.
The rounder a die is, the more it rolls. But a die can roll too much. I think standard six-sided dice are just fine.
Man, those are some expensive d12s. Also the transparency brought some holes in the pitch. When it did it cost 1.50 for bubble mailer? Here I was paying only 15 cents a mailer when I bought a stack of 100, and that is not even wholesale. It’s already a success, but either he is fudging numbers or he doesn’t know what he is really doing in some parts of this Kickstarter. Best of luck for his future projects.
