Millionaire ChessA new open Chess tournament with a record $1 million prize fund is being planned for Columbus Day weekend (October 9-13, 2014) in Las Vegas. Dubbed the Millionaire Chess Open, the competition will offer individual prizes of up to $100,000 in a variety of rating divisions.

However, while anyone can register for the tournament, there is a $1,000 fee.
