While I may not be a huge fan of Monopoly in general, but my kids are. Not only are they fans, but they really like licensed versions of the game. USAopoly’s MONOPOLY: The Legend of Zelda Collector’s Edition as been a huge hit in our household for quite some time.

How excited was I when Hasbro said they had mailed me out a copy of USAopoly’s MONOPOLY: Pokémon Johto Edition? Not as excited as I knew my kids would be. Pokémon is huge in our household, and my kids were in even more of a Pokémon froth with the release of Pokémon Sun and Moon.

So how is it? Really well made. It’s colorful, dripping with Pokémon artwork and theme, and has really nice Pokémon tokens that the kids constantly fight over. It’s hours upon hours of Pokémon MONOPOLY fun.

Seriously, though. If you like MONOPOLY, and you like Pokémon, this edition of the game is for you.

In my latest unboxing video I take a look at the Pokemon XY Evolutions set, easily one of my favorite sets in recent years. Of course it probably has a lot to do with nostalgia, but still! This is a great set for both new and old players and a great way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokemon and the end of the XY block of cards.

Unfortunately, my stream quality was cut down quite a bit. I’ll be recording a new video soon and post it up on my YouTube account for those who want a better look at the cards.

I recently received three great new Pokemon TCG items in the mail. The first, the Pikachu Battle Tin, contained a special, foil Pikachu-EX card along with some booster packs.

The second two items where Mythical Pokemon Collections, Victini and Keldeo. Each of these includes a special, foil card of their namesake, a collectable pin, and two Pokemon Generations booster packs.

Check out the video above to see me unboxing the contents of each in the Pokemon TCG Online client. I manage to pull a couple great cards out of the boosters, but the real star of this show is the cards for which each item is named for. The Pokemon Company continues to put out these collectors items that are actually worth purchasing, have a great value, and satisfy the itch to catch’em all.

pokcmon-tcg-xy-evolutions-website_homepage2Pokémon: XY—Evolutions was released today and The Pokémon Company is celebrating with a 90’s themed website.

For those who missed our previous coverage, Pokémon: XY—Evolutions celebrates 20 years of Pokémon by revisiting the original Pokémon cards. All the cards from the original Pokémon set have been made modern with higher HP and stronger attacks. That’s all that’s been updated, though, as the art and card layouts are exactly like they were in 1997! Of course, there are some new cards, like EX and BREAK cards, tossed into the mix.
