vassily_ivanchukUkrainian Chess Grandmaster Vassily Ivanchuk was cleared of doping charges for failing to provide a urine sample after a tournament. You can read the story up until now here.

Unfortunately, rather than a clear resolution, the charges were dropped on a technicality: charges were dropped because a) there was no “doping control manager” on the scene, and b) Vassily was addressed in a language (English) that was not his native tongue. This allows the IOC to save face by not having it’s rules mocked, and the FIDE to save face to claim that Chess is still on course to be an Olympic event.
