Happy New Year! We’re back with predictions for 2011 – ours and our listeners! (Be forewarned! We make up for skipping a show with an extra long 90 minute show this week.) Also, we talk about the new boardgameinfo.com and, in general, shoot the breeze about the game business.
Next show: January 29th – New York Toy Fair
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
So…what was this wild card that could shatter and shape the entire course of gaming?
Lol. Sorry About that. Rett is convinced that there will new action on the Star Wars license that could be a big deal in several markets. Minis, RPGs or even card games. IF someone picks up the license and releases product for it. Me? I’m not so sure he’s right. Star Wars is a big license, but there’s a reason no one is doing much SW game product.
Hey thanks for the mention guys!
Just to clear a few quick things up… name is said with a long E at the end. MATH+E
I own RPGNow.com the worlds largest RPG eBook download site – not RPG.NET which is owned by Skotos. We have however strongly partnered with them and are licensing the database engine.
Our goal at BGi is not to list every game- it’s to list only games someone wants to rate, review, trade, etc. Just a backbone for the true nature of the site which is a way to put quality reviews up front.
One major goal of our site is to allow local groups to use our site to promote and find local events (in and out of stores). Eventually replace meetup.com even.
Thanks again for your mention of us!

Thanks for the clarification. I kept waiting and waiting…and it never came. :-)
I agree with you on that front — it’s a big license, but with big restrictions and expense.
Banjo and James-
Sorry about that. We ran really long – and late! We finished recording the show after midnight, which I really shouldn’t do on a weeknight. Obviously – we forgot to come back to the Star Wars issue AND I munged up James’ web site! We’ll correct both issues on the next show. (And probably introduce entirely new gaffs in the process!)
