Jaipur, Asmodee’s head-to-head, set-collecting card game about trade caravans in India, is now available on mobile (Android, iOS). It can be played against three levels of AI or against another live player online.
CMON has a new companion app for Zombicide: Black Plague. Among other features, the app manages the zombie spawning deck, helps with inventory maintenance, and tracks experience and skill options. It also synchronizes over a network to track all players’ game states.
As announced by Paizo, two digital Pathfinder games are in the works. One, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, is a computer RPG and is being developed by Owlcat Games. In it, players start out as adventurers but are able to claim the lands they explore and, thus, carve out their own kingdoms. The other, Pathfinder Duels, is a digital collectible card game based on the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path and is scheduled for release in September. It’s being developed by 37Games.
Special Guest Boxes for Zombicide feature four miniatures from prominent artists in the geek world. The two newest are from Lucio Parrillo and John Kovalic.
The Parillo box includes two survivors and two zombies. The survivors are a monk who believes the zombies are holy but need help getting to heaven and a fashionista who dispatches zombies while dressed in evening-wear.
Kovalic’s box has four survivors: Matt, Gilly, Igor, and Carson, characters direct from Dork Tower.
The hugely popular Zombicide franchise has seen unprecedented fanfare through crowdfunding. The game’s creator, Guillotine Games, recently announced that a brand new stand-alone Zombicide game is in the pipeline.
Zombicide: Black Plague comes into play under the guise of an apocalyptic event that takes place in a medieval-era fantasy world filled with paladins, dwarves, kinghts, and magicians.
Think of it as Dungeons & Dragons meets Zombicide.
The rules have been revamped to be more compatible with its theme. Players will be able to pick up weapons like swords and cross bows, protect themselves with chainmail and shields, and cast spells on the undead or heal party members.
Even though the company seems to be more than capable of producing the next Zombicide game via traditional channels, Guillotine Games is, again, turning to Kickstarter to for crowdfunding. The campaign is expected to launch at the end of May. I guess there is no reason to turn your back on something that works.
You can follow Guillotine Games on Facebook for updates.
