The latest set form the Pokémon TCG, Roaring Skies, is set to hit shelves on May 6th. The set boasts over 100 new cards including 11 new EX cards, 4 of which are Mega Evolutions. Making its debut in card form … Mega Rayquaza-EX! Other EX cards include: Mega Latios-EX, Hydreigon-EX, and Thundurus-EX. There’s also new boosts like Mega Turbo and Double Dragon Energy.
I’m a bit more excited about this set than the previous few, even though they’ve all been solid. I know my kids are going to go nuts for Mega Rayquaza-EX, and my daughter for Thundurus-EX (it’s on of her favorite Pokémon.)

Arriving on the iPad and iPad Mini tomorrow, September 30th, the Pokémon TCG Online app will be free to play just like it’s PC and Mac counterparts. Players will start with a certain amount of free cards, and can snag additional Theme Decks and Booster Packs via in-game purchases.
The app will retain all the features of the desktop app, including the ability to complete online over the internet.
It’s pretty obvious now that my kids and I are big fans of the Pokemon TCG. We’ve now had a chance to sit down with the Theme Decks from the Furious Fists release, Dark Hammer and Enchanted Echo. The decks feature Pangoro and Sylveon respectively, and have a main focus of getting their base Pokemon evolved into their final form very quickly.
Dark Hammer is a STRONG deck, and plays very agressively by keeping Pokemon energy-loaded and ready to deal some damage. Enchanted Echo is a bit more subtle, pushing the opponent’s Pokemon back to the bench. Sylveon is a glass tank with only 90HP, but an attack that does +50 damage every time you use it.
I like these 2 decks a bit more than the previous Flashfire Theme Decks, but that could just be my play style swaying my decision.
